Class Cancellation Policy

We LOVE yoga and want to share it with as many students as we can! So when our classes our full, so are our hearts! But what makes us sad is when people register and then don’t show because that means someone else misses out.

Please help us avoid missed opportunities by honoring our class cancellation policies:

  1. Space is limited. Please sign up in advance to reserve your spot.

  2. If you have pre-registered and cannot attend, please cancel your reservation at least three hours before class begins. Otherwise, you will be deemed a “no show.”

  3. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the loss of one class from a Class Pack or a $20 charge to your credit card for New Student Special and Membership clients.

  4. If you are not pre-registered and class is full, priority will be given to students who registered in advance.

  5. If there is a waitlist and class has started, your spot may be given away.

Thank you from the staff at Yoga Chikitsa for your loving attention to this matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Wear comfy clothes, bring your mat if you have one and a water bottle. If you don’t have a mat you can borrow one of our public ones. We have purified water but we do not provide cups or bottles.

Q: What is appropriate etiquette?

A: We are creating a comfortable, safe, and respectful environment. Turn your cell phone off or put it on silent, do not answer texts or calls during class. If you have to get up during class, please do so quietly so as not to disturb others. Please arrive ahead of class start time and get settled before class begins. Please use the provided mat cleaner to clean your mat if you borrow one of ours.

Q: When should I get there?

A: Expect that the doors will generally open 15-20 min ahead of class. Please allow yourself time to store your things, lay out your mat, get any necessary props, and settle yourself before class begins. Doors will lock about 5-10 min into class and the instructor can refuse you entrance after class has begun to preserve the class experience for all.

To arrive several minutes late on a consistent basis is disruptive to the fellow students and especially the instructor who is trying to deliver a planned, thoughtful, and mindful experience so we ask that you please try to minimize late arrivals.

Q: I am a beginner. Which classes should I go to?

A: Here is a list of classes that are generally good to start with:

  • Mindful Mondays: Yoga Fundamentals

  • Stretch & Unwind

  • Yin

  • Slow Flow

  • Stretch & Meditation

  • Deep Stretch

  • Saturday Morning Stretch

Q: How can I tell if I’m off the waitlist/into class?

A: To be notified by text, text the word START to 214-981-1480. You can also choose to be notified by email- set this up in our app, or through your Mindbody account settings. Alternatively you can check your status leading up to the class, but remember you are responsible for knowing whether or not you’ve gotten a spot!

Q: May I bring my child or teenager?

A: Students must be 16 years of age to practice. They will need their own pass to participate. We do not have daycare on-site, and we are aiming to maintain a meditative atmosphere so we ask that you leave your children at home.

Q: I purchased classes or a membership but now I’ve changed my mind. Can I have a refund?

A: All sales are final. In most cases, however, studio credit can be arranged.

Q: May I use my pack of classes or membership for more people than myself?

A: All class purchases of any kind are non-transferable, non-shareable, and non-refundable and sales are final.
